Work… pretty much a party everyday. Spent a vast amount of time immersing ourselves in album artwork for Love The Empire… so I’ll drop a few photos we iPhoned as we took the ideas and sketches to layout. We also started to build a few wallpapers for the iPhone and iPod Touch – so I’ve put one up below as a little advance on what Love The Empire will be dropping along with the new album.
Big time thanks to Caronlina Garofina and Christina Lynnsey Neff for the work they did on this project as well as the rest of The Brosociates crew.
The first edition of a more-involved to come… development of campaign and branding. Here’s the vision behind the scene.
We are tired of doing things on our own.
We are tired of watching the world trying to do things on its own.
After all… the things we can accomplish together are far greater than what we do apart.
And at this point… We are talking about far more than Fall Retreat itself.
One weekend of shenanigans, ruckus… tomfoolery – far from the goal.
This is the beginning.
In these actions… these acts of together.
We become advocates…
Advocates for fixing what’s wrong.
Advocates for the lives of others.
At home. And abroad.
Because this is what we are learning.
We are all connected.
Broken people. Hurting lives. They are tired too.
Getting together…. not something we do.
It is who we are.
Life is better shared.
And it is here.. that we find life.
When we are more focused on one another, than fixated on ourselves.
Perhaps that is because it is only in the giving of life to one another…
where we really find our own?
And if this is true… it leaves a somewhat daunting question…
What do I love more?
My life? Or the lives others?

Another work in progress as we launched they hype page for CENTRAL Youth Movement (centralyouthmovement.com) today…using some work we’ve had on the backburner for a while so it was good to finally put it to use. Looking forward to the full launch of the new webby – and we’ve also been working on an identity project as well so I’ll get that up when I’m back from the East Coast.
Just dropped the myspace we’d been at for a while with The Intake of Glass. Including photography from a session we spent shooting in Niagara Falls over the summer. Teamed up with C. Davidson and Hurricane & Harbour on that one as well which definitely made for a fun night. Check them out at http://www.myspace.com/theintakeofglassband.

2am. And I love it. Here’s 2 of the 6+ logos currently in the works – also in the process (among other things) of launching a couple web and myspaces over the next week. It’s a busy time but we’ve been working with some great folks. And everyone’s hitting it right out of the park. The east coast assignment will be a good refresher after diving head first into perhaps our most productive August ever. Doubt I will eventually be able to keep up with everything on the blog so all the final decisions will eventually make their way into the portfolio.
The first we’ve designed for Kid Possible’s evening program… and the second is self-explanatory.
A work in progress as we launched they hype page for Lifeline Nanaimo (lifelinenanaimo.org) today… definitely impressed by the photo work those kids have happening and got to stretch the photoshop styles as well. Full site to come in the fall.
A work in progress. Friends over at the Life Campaign have been killin’ it with over $100 THOUSAND(and counting) raised to deal with the water crisis… we’ve been working with them on the latest pieces of the ad campaign so check it out. And below a photo of the tour and the official video in case you don’t know what it’s all about. Follow what Darcy and the team are up to at: www.lifecampaign.org
Had the immense pleasure over the last couple months of working with housebeautiful. Yep, that’s lowercase with the period. Essential. It’s been fun taking this thing from the initial concept to what we’ve got in our hands today. So now we have what should make its way onto the record.
This piece is about the idea that at the heart of chaos there’s this place of rest. I decided to explore a bit of what creates that longing… there are a number of elements at play here such as the water or smoke, often things that bring a peaceful feeling, wreaking havoc – things have come undone. There’s a bit of shipwreck happening.. but the clouds and the light suggest a lighter feel to all the heaviness around – hope is looming. You can follow them and await the release here: www.myspace.com/housebeautifulband
Don’t forget band at the end there or be prepared to deal with some serious polka dot action.
